A Stranger on Lonely StreetA Poem by WednesdayI was walking on down Lonely Street Thinking how life is so bittersweet When I met a stranger so bold He looked at me, eyes so cold Before I could turn the other way He grabbed my hand and had this to say
Chorus: "Darlin', things may seem rough now But it's all gonna work out somehow You're a diamond in the rough Stand your ground when things are tough You're charming and you're beautiful You can make this world so wonderful The gleam in your eyes light the world Show them the spark in you, girl"
I said I fought fire with fire and got burned I started doubting everything I've learned I'm no one special, I'm just someone invisible What I want to be is super and invincible He blinked and puts his hand on my cheek He said I am special and I'm not weak
Chorus
He smiled at me and wiped away my tears He embraced me and drove away my fears Before I could blink, he was gone with the wind Thought I heard a whisper of "Darlin'" and grinned With that grin on my face, I went on my way
Chorus
I was walking on down Lonely Street Thinking how life is so bittersweet When I met a stranger so bold He looked at me, eyes so cold...
