The Midnight Divide

The Midnight Divide

A Poem by earth_dragon88

Talking to a ghost,
As Death turns you inside out-
The one who scared you
Sets your mind at ease.

The one who forgave you
Leaves you incomplete-
Talking to a ghost,
As Death catches you by the throat.

I fell in love with you at first sight,
Like the sun that fell for this night.
The guilt was golden in my eyes,
As became the feast on my tongue.

But you met me with a sigh-
Average on a scale of one to five.
As I living a lie, eyes glaring as day,
You brushed me away, like void white.

Then one night you covered my eyes
With whispers of sweet delight,
Muting glassy disdain-
Clear fire taste.

Twin pupils of hate-
One was denied.
Now on this midnight divide, I get high.
Making love to you feels too
Good to be true.
