Cancer of the Soul

Cancer of the Soul

A Poem by earth_dragon88

Upon a wall in my room, eyes follow-
Mad, sad, cold, hollow.
An echo from the repeated past,
Ricochets through my radiated mind.

And my fear expands in ripples, worthlessly.
Smoke billows, like a wave-
Thoughts slow to amorphous trickles,
Until I can't feel my spine.

Steady as the heart is fickle-
Your voice unsettles and unbinds

The messages to grow.
Dreamy eyes reflect clouds of gray.

The wind drowns out your words as I pray.

The mourning sky casts a heavy light on my room.
The silver lining shines, like a sickle,
Saturated in blood.
The white out comes, like a lunar eclipse.
All I see is the smearing of eyes-
Cancer of the soul.
