You've got to be able to connect with your past to live in the present and form a future.

GREETINGS
Hello to the past. Onward + upward over
+ out giving me present + prospective lot.
I greet episodes I can in no case bid adieu to but have accepted.

Dad passing on -

gray, stone monument looking down
from a hilltop,
rocks + immortal earth fertilizing cherished ones.

Every disability under the sun from Anxiety to Autism.

Hello to concrete mixer + dispenser pouring out a foundation that builds me up but also wrestles me down to the ice-cold ground -

pummeling me like a sweaty, black, punching bag echoing sound like towers of collapsing blocks.

Salutations to uneven miles walked upon cracked pavements, old brick + cement walkways weathered by decay.

A warm embrace of faulty fractures making me into this person I am.

On account of how if there weren't periods I felt like

a worn down

torn apart

left beside some rural, haunted, wayside

altogether past restoration

broken down jalopy

rusted by torrential downpours,

I'd not make the cut toward the mortal I am.

About
I started writing poetry when I was thirteen. That was in 2005. Since then, it has been eleven years, and I've enjoyed each of them. Free verse, rhyme, different forms. Wherever my muse leads me. .. more..
