Inspired by summer storms. We've had a few mixed in with hotter days. The nighttime one can be beautiful.
like hands clapping together, booming meets blackish-gray skies. white and silver streaks implode in vaults of obscurity. raindrops are melodies, housetops, and asphalt instruments they play. there's a blueness that appears as clouds roll by. a seriousness is captured in storm winds blowing through trees. branches bending, dancing, in the night, sometimes rubbing against one another, and slapping windowpanes.
I don't think I could find a better description for storms. The imagery is sensational and it plays on the senses, leaving us in the midst of the storm. Love it.

Totally. Listening to great music also inspires me.
I enjoy watching storms as long as they don't hurt anyone. The lightning shows I saw last week with bolts and flashes of bright light emanating inside huge cloud masses were stunning. This poem captures that essence for me.
I started writing poetry when I was thirteen. That was in 2005. Since then, it has been eleven years, and I've enjoyed each of them.
