The Autumn Season

The Autumn Season

A Poem by Dylan Kerr
"

Hello, autumn

"
Summer is gone, fall is upon
I sit in the park, day after day, from dusk till dawn
I write what I think, I write what I see
Watching the colors of trees turn away from a uniform green
To red, gold, orange, yellow
Soon the leaves will be falling off these trees

Fun holidays on the way
Some will dress for trick or treat, while others party on Halloween
Fall is a time for friends and family
Getting close by a fire, drinking apple cider
Pumpkin carving, apple picking
All together for a great, big family dinner on Thanksgiving

This time is time for love, happiness, and warmth
Sweater weather, with everyone brought together
The season may be bittersweet
With winter creeping from up our feet
But fall is still the best season of all
So I say again, summer is gone, and fall is upon
