Sammy's HeavenA Poem by dylancjamesSammy’s Heaven
For Sammy 17 July 1973 - 16 November 2011
Dylan C James
I see you in a meadow, through my breaking heart, Busy making daisy chain, another world, apart, Daisies blanket all the earth; there is no wisp of cold, Sammy’s slice of heaven, your nana’s hand you hold.
My tears fall down; I see your face, Smiling in that other place, The birds chitter, blue skies reign, For you now Sammy, no more pain.
Rainbows, stars, fall at your feet, Yellow fields of oat and wheat, Those around you dance and sing, To flute and pipe, such gifts they bring.
Little tents in summer dew, They were waiting just for you, Sleep tight Sam under your moon, In dreamy calm, that plays your tune.
Every time you wake up there, Remember that we’re here and care, In this life, our lives will come, To join you in that golden sun.
It’s not goodbye, how could it be? Oh magic land where you are free, Bet Rufus, bounding clumsy dog, Came running at you, mouth agog!
Love always, to you, Shell x x
