Vampire

Vampire

A Poem by dylancjames

Vampire

Dylan C James

At first her eyes fell into his,

The preternatural soul,

He kept his sharpened teeth away,

As her love made him whole.

The vampire often lay awake,

It crazed his soulless mind,

For centuries he’d walked the earth,

For love like hers to find.

The vampire’s eyes would flicker slight,

Green from grey to blue,

She often questioned what he was,

But she had not a clue.

Angel not, immortal man,

With thirst for human blood,

The moon shone down to signify,

Drink is what he should.

Ethereal being, highly charged,

Electric through his touch,

Succumb would she, magnetic force,

“I love you very much.”

But it only lasted for a time,

Her love turned icy cold,

The vampire wept and sobbed for her,

Heartbreak not foretold.

He cried alone, blood tears of pain,

Not marble, stone and strong,

His love had never loved at all,

The vampire oh so wrong.

Good vampire poem, you show the vampire coming to terms of forgotten feelings.
