The Blank Stare

The Blank Stare

A Poem by Therene
"

Staring blankly doesn't mean being clueless

"
I stare
You scold me
I've an idle mind you say
But deep within you know what I'm thinking
You snap
I recoil in fear
You've a frightful temper
But deep within I know what you're feeling
A blank stare
It is not thoughtless
It is placid, tranquil, and wanderlust
In the depths of our minds, we speak without words

So if idle hands are the devil's playthings, what are idle minds?

This is actually...really good. It's simple, direct, and has a perfect build up to an excellent ending. I wouldn't change a damn thing.

Well done you.

Okay, maybe one thing. Since when is wanderlust a noun? Or even a word at all?
