Chinese Proverb

Chinese Proverb

A Poem by Therene
"

...a thought for a thought. Think it through.

"
It's Asian pride, they say,
the wisdom from a fortune cookie,
the wisdom from the elderly,
like the golden apples of Hesperides.

Have you considered yourself wise?
To tell you the truth, I never have.
Walking through life day by day,
a person to another person, wisdom is passed.

Sometimes a sage can act crazy,
though not one act is done without reason;
either to teach or to err,
one may only know when it happens.

A Chinese proverb, I've been told,
a mere collection of words put together;
to make sense, to impart wisdom
...for those who seek it.

Impulse writing are some times the best...let me guess, you ate at a Chinese Restaurant and after the meal you were served Fortune Cookie and plate of sliced orange...I love that part, when I'ved paid for date or for my family, to see Mom and Sis smiling after meals and open up a fortune cookie that reads, "You make people smile." It great, just like this write...I guess I relate because I am Asian like lol. Nicely done...and a lovely read for me.
