Indestructible Bubble

Indestructible Bubble

A Poem by Therene

To see the world in peripheral vision,

Strange as it seems to others,

But perfectly normal for me.

To hear the noises as bass,

Unnecessary as it seems to others,

But perfectly in tune for me.

To feel the surface as a film,

Fragile as it seems to others,

But perfectly enduring for me.

To live in an indestructible bubble,

Unsociable as it seems to others,

But perfectly secure for me.

Monologue: I just typed Author as athour then aouthr and then atuhor. I think I’m dyslexic. Oh. Wow! I might be a demi-goddess. Talk to the hand, Gel. The ear’s not listening.

So, ok. Enough of my monologues. I picked this up from a conversation and an existing poem. So, yeah. Too much repetition doesn’t really work for me but I got bored.

Content: Tell me what you think.
Technicals: There’s not much to kill, is there? Do what you can.

First stanza, I saw something interesting. Animals that are prey have great peripheral vision. When applied to this stanza...It's actually kind of powerful. I felt like danger was around every corner. I wondered how can a person endure a life such as that.

It's quite an image to be so close to life and yet be so far away. I dont know why, but somehow, I get the feeling that this person is the only one that can see the bubble they are in.
