Chapter 1A Chapter by Angie Diane♥♥Enjoy!
Chapter 1 A small boy around the age of seven ran out of his room. His mother and father were sitting in the living room. They were having a discussion that he knew his parents didn’t want him to hear. His parents always talked amongst themselves. He was excluded from all of the conversations. Well he didn’t want to know what they were about anyways. He ran into the kitchen, grabbed his drink and a snack and rushed back into the room. He caught a few words of the conversation. When he heard his name he stopped. “Tomoya, does not need to suffer through another move. He already suffered enough when moved into this house. He hasn’t even made any friends yet. It’s hard on someone that just moved to make friends again. We did that to him so suddenly and he was only five at that time and now we moved again,” he heard his mother say quietly. He saw his mother twisting her hair with her finger. He saw the look that was written on her face. It was an astonished look. He saw his father stand up and he stroked his hair in annoyance. His father always did that when he was annoyed. His father was now pacing back and forth. “He barely had any friends when we moved the first time. He is not making any friend’s here either. All of our neighbors have been talking about us. I feel weird living in this house though. Something about the room that Tomoya is staying in is giving me the creeps. Did you notice that the room he is staying in has no windows or color? It didn’t bother me at first, but now it is bothering me.” “The room is starting to bother me as well. At first when we moved in I thought the house was great, but the room just started to creep me out,” he heard his mother say. Tomoya could feel himself getting upset about what his parents were talking about. He decided to walk into the living room where his mother and father were. When they saw him come in their conversation ended. “Mom, dad, I don’t want to move. I like it here. I don’t find that room creepy. I don’t at all,” Tomoya said. He had a small smile on his face. His parents jaw dropped when they realized their son had heard most of what they were saying. “Honey, I think it’s for the best,” his mother said getting up. She was going to try to pull him into an embrace. That is not what Tomoya needed right now. Tomoya backed away because he was starting to get really upset. He was actually beginning to love the new house. Sure he wasn’t making friends just yet, but he knew that he would. He just needed to adjust to the new life he was now being forced into. If he moved again he would have to be forced into another lifestyle that he knew that he wouldn’t enjoy. For some reason Tomoya had a feeling that he like this house because of that room. He didn’t know why, but he felt like he was connected to the room. “Yeah, son, we need to have a new change in scenery. Plus your dad is getting a new job. Dad will be able to buy you all the things you want. You will make great friends in the new town. You will have a great life in the city,” His father said stroking his hair. Tomoya backed away from his father because now he was even more upset. He could feel tears starting to well up in his eyes. “I don’t want to move again. You already made me give up my friends, daddy, mommy; I just want to be settled in. You’ll see we will all like it here,” Tomoya said. He was starting to smile again. His parents didn’t have a smile on their faces though. That made him a little bit upset. He knew that they were probably going to be moving again soon. He was not happy at all. XXX It had been a few days since his father decided that they were going to be moving. Tomoya was now packing up his clothes into his suitcase. He sighed as he touched the walls in the room. When he touched it a light glowed from his hand. Quickly he pulled his hand away and the light disappeared. Tomoya smiled lightly when he pressed his hand up against the wall again. At that moment he thought he felt the wall move, but he knew that it was impossible. He heard the front door open signaling that his father was home. His mother had already been making dinner. She was making Tomoya’s favorite tonight because she knew that he was still upset about the new move that they were going to be making. She didn’t like to see her little man upset. Tomoya knew that he wanted to convince his father not to move again. Tomoya ran out his room and into the kitchen. He could tell that his favorite meal was going to be done in any minute. He was pretty hungry anyways because he didn’t have his after school snack. He wasn’t hungry after school. He took a nap instead because he only had one page of homework. He knew that he could finish that after he had his dinner. “Hi daddy!” he exclaimed. Plus he was happy that his father had gotten home safely. During the night he had a bad dream about his father. He dreamt that his father had passed away in a terrible accident. Tomoya had woken up in cold sweat from that dream. He also knew he screamed because his mother ran into the room to check on him. He told her what she dreamt. She kissed him on the forehead and told him that everything was going to be alright and that nothing was going to happen. Tomoya wasn’t sure that he could believe his mother. His father rubbed his head when he passed him. Tomoya always liked to have his head rubbed. He never understood why though. “Hello son.” “Dad, can we please not move? I actually made a new friend in school today. He wants to come over on the weekend to play.” Tomoya said. His mother gave him a surprised look though. She hadn’t heard the news all day. She could tell that Tomoya was in a good mood when he came home from school. His father sighed because he knew that this conversation was going to come up. He didn’t want to tell his son that they were going to be moving again because he had gotten a better job. He was going to make good money. That was the only reason that he wanted to leave. He was getting paid a good amount here, but he wanted to make better money. Tomoya’s father wasn’t really thinking of Tomoya’s happiness at that moment. He was only thinking about himself. “Sorry, son, but we still need to move. I know you are going to have a hard time accepting it, but I think you will understand someday, son,” His father said and put his hand on Tomoya’s head. Tomoya could feel himself getting upset again. He pulled away from his father’s touch. “I don’t want to move!” Tomoya shouted. “I like this town! I like this house! I don’t want to leave it! I want to be able to live a normal life, daddy. I don’t want to move place to place. It’s hard already trying to meet people, daddy. It’s going to be even harder when we move. Please daddy, please don’t make me leave.” His father sighed again. His mother was just staying out of this conversation. She knew how it was going to end anyways. “Son, I’m not going to change my mind. I’m sorry, but we are moving by the end of the month.” Tomoya could feel the tears falling now. He didn’t want to leave his new home. He didn’t want to leave his new friend. Tomoya was now upset. “I hate you, daddy!” He ran out of the room. His father looked surprised at his outburst. His mother was surprised as well. She had never seen her son get angry…there was a first time for everything. Tomoya didn’t even want to come down for dinner that night because he was too upset. The next morning… © 2013 Angie Diane♥♥ |
