![]() Peter- Part 1- Chapter 3A Chapter by Angie Diane♥♥![]() Please read and enjoy.![]() Chapter 3 After school, Peter meets up with Damien. He is giving him a ride home, then Damien is going to football practice. Damien tries talking to him, but he doesn’t bother answering. He doesn’t want to talk about what happened at lunch. “Peter, I’m your brother. I want to help you. What’s been going on with you? I have noticed you’re a lot quieter than last year. It’s only the first day of school and you’re already struggling. I did see you crying at the lunch table, Peter. I was really worried about you for the rest of the day. I also noticed you didn’t eat anything at lunch. Please, Peter, tell me what’s been going on with you,” Damien asks. He ruffles Peter’s hair again. Peter is a little shocked. He didn’t expect his brother to notice anything was off with him. Damien usually doesn’t pay any attention to him. Plus, didn’t Damien see Peter get shoved? Peter thought Damien knew that he was getting bullied. “You never wanted to know my issues before. Why do you want to know now,” Peter asks. He crosses his arms over his chest. He is a little frustrated with Damien. Damien has never cared before. Why does he care now? Peter stares out the window. He watches as other people drive by. Most of the people are fellow students. Some of them are pointing at him and laughing. That upsets Peter more than before. He wants to hide. Peter is happy when they get home. He gets out of his brother’s car and slams the door shut. He can feel anger starting to course through him. He goes straight to his room. He wants to start his homework right away. Not that he had much homework; he just wanted to avoid talking to Damien. He hears a knock on his door, but he doesn’t answer it. He knows it’s Damien. “Peter, please, tell me what’s going on? I do care about you, little bro. I know it doesn’t seem like it all the time, but I do. I care about you a lot. I don’t like seeing you so upset,” Damien says. “Don’t you have football practice to go to,” Peter asks harshly. Damien can feel hurt bubbling up in his chest. Damien is upset that Peter won’t talk to him. Damien sighs, walks out of the house, and heads back to the school. He has a meeting for football practice. Peter does his homework. He is writing a letter to himself for English class. At first, Peter doesn’t know what he wants to write about. He’s glad that his teacher is never going to read the letter. He decides to write all his future goals for the year. He wants to become an artist, writer, singer, and dancer. He wants to be in the play. He also desires to not get bullied over it. He does hope that he will find someone to love him for who he is someday. He hears another knock on the door again. He knows that it’s not Damien. Damien normally doesn’t get out of football practice until late. He thinks it’s either Mark or Cassie. He opens the door and sees little Cassie smiling up at him. Cassie starts jumping up and down happily. She is much happier than she was earlier this morning. Peter smiles down at his little sister. “Peter, I had an awesome day! I really am happy! Most of my friends from last year were in the same class as me! We have the nicest teacher ever! She even made sure that I was okay after I cut my finger by accident! I can’t wait to go back tomorrow,” Cassie says while smiling wider. Peter smiles again. He kneels in front of Cassie, and she jumps into Peter’s arms. He lifts her and walks down to the kitchen with her. “I’m glad that you had a fun time at school, Cassie. Are you hungry? What would you like for a snack if you are,” Peter asks. He gives her a kiss on the cheek. “I’m a little hungry. Can I have some animal crackers,” she asks. He nods and puts her down. He’s lucky that she’s still small enough to pick up. Cassie really loves it when Peter holds her. Sometimes, he’ll give her piggyback rides into the kitchen. She has so much fun when he does that. Playing with Cassie helps him forget what he’s going through. He’s glad; she distracts him from his thoughts as well. The negative thoughts are really starting to eat at him. “Do you want milk with them,” Peter asks her. She nods and Peter grabs Cassie’s favorite cup. He gives her some milk and a little bowl of animal crackers. He runs upstairs to grab his English notebook. Marc is in the kitchen when he returns. He’s tickling Cassie. Cassie’s giggle is super adorable to Peter. Peter smiles at both of his siblings. He’s glad Marc and Cassie get along well. For the most part anyway. “Hey Marc, did you have a good day at school,” Peter asks. He ruffle’s Marks hair. Marc smiles, nods, and hugs Peter. Marc grabs himself a slice of chocolate cake. Peter usually eats a snack with them. Today, he doesn’t want to eat a snack. He doesn’t want to gain any more weight than he already has. “Peter aren’t you going to have a snack too,” Cassie asks. She twirls her hair with a finger. “No, sis, I’m not that hungry, but thank you for asking,” Peter says smiling at her. Peter starts finishing his letter to himself. Cassie is shooting him strange looks the whole time. He laughs a little and pats her head. “What’s that look for, Cassie?” “You normally eat a snack after school. Are you okay,” she asks. A little pout is on her lips. “I’m fine, Cassie. Don’t worry. I’m just not that hungry. I had a big lunch,” Peter replies. Cassie still is giving him strange looks. It doesn’t look like she believes him at all. Peter gives her a kiss on the cheek again. He runs his finger through her hair lightly. That gets a small smile from her and a little giggle. Peter smiles again when Cassie climbs into his lap and hugs him tightly. He hugs her back. Cassie still believes her older brother is lying to her though. She doesn’t know what’s happening, but she’ll try to get to the bottom of it. That’s the promise she makes to herself. Right now, she’s just going to enjoy sitting in her big brother’s lap. © 2024 Angie Diane♥♥Reviews
