Down there, by the sea

Down there, by the sea

A Poem by dwarvenking
"

A poem designated to a fair lady I had the honour of meeting.

"

Down there, by the sea

Where the merchants of yore

Traded on shores

Treads She, whose countenance holds

Kind spirit and elven mean

Down there, by the sea

Where mighty Venice

Once brought ships to moor

Enchanting, with silence she stoops

Through the Ocean’s azure door

Down there, by the sea

Where Kings wish to be

A fairy dwells

That brightly seems in endless gleam

To be the goddess from my dreams

I believe there are a few things that could be changed/improved in this poem, however, I found it very hard to do so and actually find a solution. Any critique would be of tremendous help as I honestly think this poem has potential.

I am not going to critique you because I have no reason to. Your writing is easy to feel and brings you memories from the past and I really love the way you told us about someone you have feelings for if that's true because sometimes we, writers, just write poems or stories which don't have any connection to our private life. Keep writing because it really defines you and I hope that one day I will see you as a published author! Bebe
