![]() Gorging out Forbidden Love from the Forensic HeartA Poem by Amorette Duvannes![]() A villanelle written in iambic pentameter about the loss of innocence with falling in love for the first time, and knowing of the inevitability that it will hurt.![]()
I deem thee all, bent knees, waterproof fay:
It will be yours; black fever, white-hot ash, Wounded-blind, feeble, made of daze, and clay -- They come in hoods - butter-knees in slight day. The heart, the heart -- spits out like a backlash. I deem thee all, bent knees, waterproof fay: Like a phantom, He will be gone in May: Lost to high grace, leaving blood run like a rash; Wounded-blind, feeble, made of daze, and clay. Meshing Him out won't break the snap, thus Pray! Hounded hurt; a red, sulking, screaming bash -- I deem thee all, bent knees, waterproof fay: How thou art ostracised, black-eyed dismay! When He steps out; A roaring hoovered slash! Wounded-blind, feeble, made of daze, and clay -- Like a Swan, He is gone to the Far Way - Pumping blood; hoarding geese, please! A damned mash: I deem thee all, bent knees, waterproof fay -- Wounded-blind, feeble, made of daze, and clay --
