A young Don Johnson stars as Vic, who roams a post-apocalyptic wasteland accompanied by his telepathic, ever-grumbling dog and eventually winds up in the clutches of a female-dominated underground society that wants his sperm.
David's Dibs:
That's a rather strange plot, isn't it ? But having seen this classic science-fiction film a half-dozen times myself in the past, I have to admit, it works. There is a real kinship between Vic and Blood and it shows in the movie.
And there is wrath too, from Vic who is tired, hungry, and - if you'll pardon the expression, just wants to get laid. Blood, the dog who telepathically speaks to Vic is remarkably intelligent and tries to steer Vic down the path of good and safety - is not always successful.
While this film may be on a shoestring budget, it does deliver because you see the best and worst of personalities and actions for everyone involved - even from killer robots.
You should definitely watch this if you have never seen it before to see - well, what one boy and dog can do to survive alone in the world where government and law have broken down completely. They are the survivors.
