Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy and safe 4th of July. These fireworks are for those people (like me) who are shut in and couldn't get out w friends today.
Here's wishing you happiness, prosperity, and luck, this year and the next.

These are certainly beautiful. I didn't get to see fireworks this year, and I wish I'd seen this post sooner, but it seems I run into your work only by accident these days.

I actually wrote a fireworks program a year back. My problem is I'm not accounting for the varying resolutions everyone has. From wide-screen to tall-screen of cellphones, all my coding is geared for 1024x768 pixels, which as you know today is old school.
I'll have to get with the times when I write a new program so it'll work in any resolution it is set.

A few years back I wrote business software for companies. I'm pretty good at writing databases. And - well - I worked myself out of a few jobs that way.
My Dad told me to not be too efficient at jobs and I guess I was.
Barrier, my novel, however. I don't know. I really work on those chapters every day, even editing the older ones for higher clarity and descriptiveness.
I've got it planned out to 4-books. I know it's a crazy story. Outside of S2 tho I guess that will be my legacy. :) I can't ask for more than that, Sue.

Coming up with new ideas that I can write is somewhat of a hobby for me and still fun. But putting everything together, like mixing a song, or proof-reading my poetry and stories is like work (I have like, 100 writings in the making that I need to put together or proof read and re-edit)!
Do you program professionally anymore?

The last program I wrote in GFA created this page HERE,
http://bit.ly/1uH07Cw
I just needed to enter in the values for the image icon, the URL address, and the description. Unfortunately it is written in GFA and since I'm running Windows 8.1, I'll have to rewrite it in a different programming language now if I plan to make any updates to it.
I've helped a few people in Writer's Cafe by writing a type of fixer-upper in GFA, it takes someone's chapter or story and indents it based on length and content.
I wrote a program in BlitzMAX that created this page for me,

Used a similar program I wrote to create this for DeviantART,

BTW, I noticed that your Avatar (the little picture you see accompanied with messages) is blank. You can change that HERE,

Go down to where it says PHOTO, click BROWSE, then upload a 100x75 picture to represent YOU. If this seems like a bit of work, I can do it for you if you like, just let me know what kind of image you want.
If you want to do some pretty cool and advanced stuff in Writer's Cafe, I made a classroom for teaching it HERE,

I started writing and selling software when I was 10-years old - so I've got a bit of a background in programming today, Sue. :)

Thank you for showing me how to change my avi. I had no idea. You don't have to change it for me, but thanks for asking. The sites you worked on are really great and now that I know you've been doing it since 10, I see why everything is so polished. Maybe you can help me add a social media button on my site, but first... I need more money :)

Best way to describe this, I'm retired young and I see a doctor every week. Sort of an out-patient management.
While I have enough money to pay for everything, I don't have to handle any of it - and I just get an allowance every week as if I'm a kid. That in itself makes it difficult for me to make big purchases.
If there is something I feel I need, I have to contact the main company that is handling my finances and they weigh and decide if it's something I need rather more than just want. So far they've been very liberal and green lighted many fancy purchases.
I'll certainly be glad to help you with your site, but I tell you now, if you are having to pay money on a website just to carry your writing, IMHO that is ripping you off. Writer's Cafe never had such restrictions.
Sure, you can go premium on here and advertise your works professionally if you like. You can even do what is called vanity publishing and for a fee get your writing or novel published into a real book, notwithstanding how good or bad it is.
But what does that say about the writer ? If you are accepted and appreciated in a free website, that is the best and highest praise you can ever receive. No-one should ever have to pay money just to be appreciated - please consider.
Also, you mentioned you have like 100 writings in the making ? I would be very certain to copy those to Notepad or Wordpad and back them up.
Any internet site can go down and there is no guarantee it will ever return. I've seen that happen to 3 sites where I posted my initial work. They went down and never returned, nor did they make acceptable remunerations to those people who did pay them for premium access.

If it was just my work, I'd definitely just place my work on sites like this.
I also have to hire someone to build a web site for me or pay for a site. I literally have no idea how to do anything. I pay for my site through Dream Host/Word press and I had to watch You Tube videos just to figure out how to build my site :)
I agree with you about saving work as well. I have my work written down in my notebooks here at my house, as well as Microsoft Word. But, you never know what accidents can happen so I always send my work to my email address just to be safe!

To my knowledge, writers and poets want nothing more if only to have critical feedback and acknowledgment for their good works. While others can read your stories and poems on it-trigued, to my knowledge there is no way of you knowing who has visited.
I, too, have an account in Wordpress and while I have learned a great many things there, I was not at all impressed with the lack of support and inability to mold a page to my liking outside of being a paying member.
In Writer's Cafe, you can free of charge add Youtube movies, Google Drive videos, streaming music including Internet radio channels, have an infinite number of images for any post (really !), and the ability of backing up your pages including all HTML commands and codes including the ability to change font, size, color, and Inline code, Embed code, Flash merge code, and Stream.

As of right now, I'm pretty much on the fence about adding a comment or a forum section. Maybe just for the writers because feedback is always welcomed in the writing community, but I'd have to think about it.
I will post all of my work on my website and this web site, but I can't post other artist work to this site without their consent.
The lack of support with Word Press was always the hardest part for me. I have a hard time getting attention to the question I have asked in the support forum. I think they should get email support or phone support, but other than that, everything worked out pretty good.
Thank you for visiting my site and for your advice. You've given me some things to reflect on.
