Schoolhouse Rock ! is an American programming series of animated musical educational short films that aired during the Saturday morning children's programming on the U.S. television network ABC.
The topics covered included grammar, science, economics, history, mathematics, and civics. The series' original run lasted from 1973 to 1985; it was later revived with both old and new episodes airing from 1993 to 1999.
David's Dibs:
I grew up watching this series. My favorite of all is Figure 8 - which I'll post later.
The songs are so memorable and the animations so endearing you can't help but - gosh sakes - actually LEARN something from watching these.
And what better video to help you with your writing and grammar then in Writer's Cafe !
This is a special set too. While I could've posted these without accompanied text, some of the words you might not know, such as, "Adjective," or "Conjunction."
And - I would've used the original subtitles themselves but they were way too grainy to look at - so I extracted the close captioning, saved it as a SRT, then converted it to AAS for VirtualDUB, chose a font, "Autumn Regular" and WAS going to insert this text to make it PINK so it would really stand out.
But Chris who was watching me put this together said, no, come on, make it normal, WHITE text with black background and 10% shadowing - so I did. And the results ? Well, I think it's pretty legible after all !
Includes the following episodes:
• We Unpacked Our Adjectives
• Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Get Your Adverbs Here
• Conjunction, Junction, What's Their Function ?
• Interjections
• I Got Pronouns
• Verb ! That's What's Happening
• You Know They're Nouns
• Busy Prepositions
• Mr. Morton & Predicates
Enjoi !
