... I am loving this game ! ...

This game is Rated: EVERYONE

Delve into a strange cave with a seemingly endless supply of treasure, strategically choosing your battles to gather as much treasure as possible !

Find rare artifacts, gold, and stat gems, and traverse the skill tree to become your choice of a mage, warrior, alchemist, or a mix of skills. Craft potions, enchant your equipment, and discover secret areas !

But be careful because the cave has become quite dangerous lately with more explorers are going missing each day ...

David's Dibs:

This is one great little casual RPG. No need for fast fingers or quick decisions. It plays more like chess in many ways and that gives you time to think about what you are doing and to strategize your movements.

Here are some tips I put together while playing.

+ As the game says, every level is RANDOM. Even if you return to a previously visited level, the contents of the map will be different every time. Therefore it does no good to try and memorize maps as they will change when you enter them.

+ A full map of where you have traveled appears in the top-right-hand corner of your screen. YELLOW is you. Yellow is also unopened treasure. RED is monsters. And WHITE is the exit.

+ You can press [ESC] to bring up your ITEMS and option for SKILLS and STATUS. You can additionally press the DIGITS 0 (zero) through 9 (nine) to USE that item in your inventory.

+ Click on the BOOK (to the left of the gear) to see all the critters you've met so far.

+ If you don't want to use the arrow keys from the keyboard, you can click with your mouse to tell where you want your player to go. The system is intelligent and will circumnavigate curves and bends in the map for you.

+ The monsters do not move until you are in their square ! Take all the time you want to strategically plan how you will attack or avoid them.

+ Fighting a critter that does no damage or only 1 point to you ? Remember that and be certain to defeat each and every one of them on all the levels that you find to rack up experience points.

+ While in combat, you can press any of the digits 0 (zero) through 9 (nine) to activate any of the items you have placed in your selection below. You may need to set them first by clicking on the button to the far left that looks like 2-squares. This is especially useful for potions and healing spells.

+ This game is different from most RPGs in that you can be penalized for fighting all the monsters on a floor, especially if they are difficult ones. Healing Potions are few and far between. Choose your battles carefully. You may level up faster by fighting everything but be lacking critical Hit Points when you need them for later levels.

+ When you gain a level, look to the RIGHT for a button labeled, "Skill Points Available" to bring up your SKILLS. Click twice on each that you want to have added to your player's strengths. When you can no longer click, you have used up all your SKILL POINTS. Press [ESC] or click [BACK] to return.

+ If you can't get to some treasure or monsters because the stairs or a wall is in the way, look for another way around. There is always a path, it is never blocked entirely.

+ It may be quite possible to grab a treasure from around a critter. Look at all the ways you can approach the treasure and you may be able to avoid a difficult combat entirely.

+ I think you should definitely whack off all the monsters that you know for certain can die in one hit. It's the ones you have to tussle with that you should decide if you do or do not want to fight them.

+ You can use the underground fires (they look like a fiery cave) to craft items. It's not that difficult. Touch it and you will hear hammers clang. Then select an item from your inventory that you are not wearing. Then select the far RIGHT items from your inventory that are reagents to work with. Select two of them and click ENCHANT ITEM.

+ Crafting costs magic points. If you are using the HEAL spell often, you may not have enough magic points to craft anything new until you get more points.

+ When you have SKILL points available, don't forget you can scroll the screen by grabbing an edge of it with the mouse and dragging to show further skills you may be more interested in.

+ Always check your inventory from time to time. You may have better armor and weapons and not know it until you look. You don't automatically equip the better items so it's up to you to keep track of that. Double click an item from the selections below to equip or use it.

+ Fighting and defeating especially difficult monsters may yield you an enchanted item - it does happen.

+ Click on the GEAR (it's just above the MAGIC icon to change your configuration and - more importantly - SAVE YOUR GAME)

+ No, I don't know of any way to make your player walk faster - sorry 'bout that. :)

+ Glowing or sparkling walls reveal a secret passage ! You should always examine it.

+ GOLD TREASURE CHESTS are worth grabbing. Fight the hard monsters to get to them as they will always have an ENCHANTED ITEM and will be with you when you exit the dungeon.

+ If you hear a music RIFF (trumpets), click ITEMS at once to see the item you have received as it is quite valuable.

+ Some treasures can be walked on once the item is removed, so as not to impede the progress of the player. A treasure bag for instance becomes empty once you have the contents.

+ Your game is automatically saved every time you descend a flight of stairs. Now isn't that convenient ! :)

+ As the game says, it is not to your advantage to fight all the monsters. Whack the ones you know will pifft in one hit and grab the treasures. Occasionally you may need to fight a hard monster to get to the stairs or a desired treasure. Keep an eye on your slots listed below, that holds your healing potions, click on it with the mouse to increase your hit points when you have them.

+ Hit Points low and nowhere to go ? Look in your Item panel below. See WINGS ? These allow you to escape the dungeon. Doing so saves your life and while you may retain enchanted armor and magic weapons (which appear in gold frames), you lose any other items that are not enchanted.

+ Every 10 floors you meet a shop (up to 50). Not only can you buy and sell items but you may CONTINUE from this level the next time you use WINGS to exit. Now that's convenient !

+ When selling items, to make it convenient there is a button labeled QUICK SELL JUNK. This will allow you to sell all armor and weapons that are not enchanted and not being worn by you. While it may not add up to very much, every little bit helps. You want to focus on better weapons and armor and if you have any money left over, for Healing Potions.

+ Reaching a merchant level, using a WING, or even dying on a level does NOT save your game. Outside of descending stairs where the game saves automatically, it is up to you to save periodically on grueling levels in case the browser tab closes or you shut down your browser.

+ During a difficult combat you can watch your HIT POINT loss and experience gained once it is complete. Use that to judge whether or not the combat is something you want to enter.

+ Walk by the writing desk in the dungeons and you will be able to read a DIARY page of the last wizard who was there.

+ It is possible to find more than one exit per level. Which one you choose may or may not benefit you. It's up to you to pick a path.

+ Are your Hit Points flashing in the panel above ? Then you are close to fainting and need to use Healing Potions or use the WING to exit the dungeon now before you expire ! Returning to the CITY automatically recovers all HIT POINTS and MAGIC POINTS.

+ When you are in the CITY, there are only 2 structures you can enter. The MUSEUM to store enchanted items you don't need which is to the LEFT. And the TAVERN where you can get the occasional odd quest request.

+ Having bad luck starting at level 10 or 20 ? The critters are too hard to fight ? It is possible you don't have matching armor or weapons. Start at a lower level until you find the satisfactory balanced items you are looking for.

+ Can't find the exit ? You may have already found it just some big critter was blocking your view of it. Check the mini-map in the top-right-hand corner of your screen for any WHITE dot. That's the exit to the next level.

+ Getting ready to take the stairs ? Have you left any treasure or weak monsters behind ? Check your smaller map in the top-right-hand corner of the screen to be sure. RED are monsters and YELLOW are treasures. Spending a little more time on a level may reveal both.

+ When fighting a monster, look to the top-left-hand corner of the screen to see the statistics of it. It will not only show it's HIT POINTS but what it is weak against and the experience points you will gain in defeating it.

+ You only need one of each enchanted weapon and armor type. When you meet the merchant underground, always save one and sell off the extras for big cash you can use to buy potions and other useful items.

+ Don't forget, when you meet the merchant underground, he also has a FORGE. Forge better weapons and armor before selling off your junk items.

+ If you don't want to forge anything in the game, sell off your reagents for items you will use.

+ If you FORGE without choosing a weapon or armor, you will be crafting a custom POTION. Click CRAFT POTION to do so, or click the CRAFT button to the right to reset the FORGE.

+ If a high level monster is guarding anything except a GOLD CHEST or a GREEN CHEST, it may not be worth fighting to get the treasure. Any critter that does more than 20 damage per hit is really out of your league and you should level up first before facing them.

+ Always seek the monsters you know you can off with one hit. They cost nothing to your HITS and you always get experience points from them and occasionally a treasure.

+ It is absolutely worth expending ALL of your HIT POINTS to make it to the next level if it is in steps of 10. If the next level is 10, 20, 30, etc. You can EXIT the dungeon after reaching it to recover all your HITS and have the option of returning right back to it to continue.

+ Don't worry about the spikes on the 20+ level floor. They are there just as a barrier and do not take away HIT POINTS when touched.

+ Smaller monsters does not necessarily mean weaker attacks. The tiny frogs seen on level 20 give brutal attacks. Try to avoid them until you are stronger.

+ Get the FLAME STRIKE magical ability. It greatly helps combat by burning your opponents when you attack them.

+ If you cannot see the spells you have learned or potions you have purchased after having re-entered a dungeon, click on the two squares to the far bottom left of the screen. Click on the spell twice and it will appear in your active panel. Press ESC to exit.

+ When in the CITY, always check with the guy outside on the RIGHT hand side of the building. While pricey, he sells outstanding weapons and armor.

+ You should always talk to the merchant, he has excellent advice.

+ If you do not have a WING, you may have to fight every monster and open every treasure on a level to find one.

+ Use a little common sense. Don't attack a difficult monster guarding a chest hoping you can get by it to see if it's path has stairs leading down. Remember - any chest is solid and cannot be crossed, even when emptied. Save yourself the battle and find another way of getting there.

+ Starting on level 10, 20, etc. ? Be certain to buy ALL the potions the merchant has. Both for healing HIT POINTS and MAGIC POINTS. These will be hard to find later in the dungeon levels.

+ Talk to everyone again every time you exit the dungeon. Sometimes they'll move around and have different things to say or advice to offer.

+ When re-entering the dungeon, click ITEMS to check what you have equipped. Remember any non-enchanted items will be gone and you must re-equip the enchanted ones if you traded them in favor of a temporary more powerful non-enchanted one.

+ Seeing a path of difficult monsters you don't want to face ? Don't hesitate to backtrack your steps. You may not only find a different way around this but find new free unguarded treasure as well.

+ ALWAYS defeat a critter that is guarding a sparklie on the wall. That is a secret passage, free of critters and always guarantees an unguarded GOLD TREASURE CHEST, a diary page to read from the wizard, and an additional EXIT to the next level.

+ Wearing a REGENERATION RING ? Try to keep your magic at say 75% of the total. If it is already at 100%, you gain nothing from a victorious combat in where it is where it is raised.

+ Be aware, not all each of the 10-levels has a merchant. One might have a nasty boss monster waiting for you. Be prepared !

+ Watch out ! On higher levels, that GOLD CHEST may actually be a MIMIC ! Be prepared for a hard battle unless you're armor ready. You can tell the chest is a MIMIC because it peeks it's eyes out from the lid to look around.

+ Warning ! If you have more than one WINGS and you use it to leave the dungeon, you will lose any additional ones you have. It is best to sell all of them off to the merchant except for the one you are using to exit.

+ Warning ! I did not find any WINGS between levels 10-22 ! You will need this vital item to exit the dungeon. Without it, it doesn't matter how strong your player gets, he will eventually expire in combat. And dying in this game seriously penalizes you.

When you die you return right back where you started minus all the good items you may have found (essentially loading your game just before you entered the dungeon).

+ Got more questions ? Let me know, I'm pretty familiar with this game now.

. . .

Here is what you get from the treasure containers.

Bags give gold.
Wooden Chests give reagents for the FORGE.
Silver Chests give fancier reagents and non-enchanted items such as weapons and armor.
Green Chests give a Magic Pickaxe, =WINGS=, or Potions.
Gold Chests give an ENCHANTED ITEM ... (or it could be a MIMIC !)
Floating Jewels give an increase in abilities.

So what does it mean ? For long-term benefit, search out the Green and Gold Chests as they will give you an item you can take out of the dungeon and use for later.
. . .

Note, this game like most flash programs may show you logos before the game begins. Unless you want to pop-up new company pages in your browser, be patient before clicking.

Wait until the THREE BUTTONS appear atop each other. Click the top NEW GAME or CONTINUE button to start and you will be up and playing.
