What happened today ?
Notta lotta really. Have my 1TB drive filled up a bit more than 25%. When I see Rose tomorrow I'll buy another one. Looks like it's going to work just fine.
And, I'm ready ! I crushed up some Nilla Wafers for the birds when I see her. We're going shopping (her favorite pasttime), and get in sometime tomorrow around 7pm. However, when she's visiting I have to be a good host so no Internet for me, not really.
Halloween is coming up ! Have you picked out a costume ? Going to any parties ? Be safe out there whichever and whatever you decide to do. Don't drink and drive, or maybe the reverse is better, it's okay to drive, like if you're going home and junk and then drink if you gotta ?
Honestly I never understood. Beer to me tastes like pennies in water. Blecch ! So why drink at all ?
Tomorrow and Sunday I won't be here cause I'll be with Rose. I will return Monday and hopefully have some new photos and stuff to share with you then ...
Why do you think bullies tease and abuse other kids ?
If a bully would listen to you, what would you tell them in your own words ?
Makes them feel better, I suppose.
That is a sense of satisfaction they likely won't get in many other parts of life.
Why do recreational tennis players try and whack their serves at full pelt, lacking good technique, and never make the effort to adjust their technique?
It is because the 1/5 times they hit the ball cleanly and time it well it gets them a sense of achievement, but the reality is, it's only a small percentage of the time they will reach that.
But they never change,
This reality for bullies as they can't have a great life outside of school, and often are bullied themselves, or they're bored, or they want to try out their ability to control others, is not something that comes just from them, it's environmental, very much so. The way they're brought up, have sadnesses in their life they need an outlet and justify taking it out on others. Sad to see.
I think there's some very good averts on UK TV right now where a boyfriend is trapped behind a pane of glass, looking in on HIMSELF hitting his girlfriend when she doesn't want to sleep with him. But he keeps pressuring her, verbally and physically it is like abuse.
The person, seeing himself, is banging on the glass, telling himself to stop.
I like to think that bullies grow up and change in older life to some extent, but, most people today are not good members of society, so they obviously haven't done.
But those that do, possibly saw themself and how they behaved.
There's no reasoning, but, when it happens to them, or they reflect on how they act, then there's a chance they change.
But if you could show them how they act, that would have a big impact.
That sounds like an interesting advertisement. Do you have a YT link for it, Jed ?

And yes, with my experience, it was all about control and, "putting someone where they belong."

Curiously I am thinking of where I could place myself behind glass like that and aside from one time in my life back in High School when I finally had it with a bully, I think I would be the one behind the frame saying, leave him alone, referring to me.
I only blew my top once back in school against a bully, but it was enough and cost me the rest of the school year. Since then - never again. Perhaps I should've stood up for myself other times, just - not so dramatically as I did then. And yet - honestly I would not know what I am supposed to do or say - to make them stop.
