From the first time I saw this Anime movie I couldn't stop laughing at how outrageous the whole plot was ! And I have this very film to blame (or congratulate) for my fixation and boyhood crush today.

Project A-Ko is a 1986 animated fantasy-parody film that had several sequels and a spin-off. This series references a number of other works of anime from the 1970s and 1980s, such as Macross, Fist of the North Star and Gundam. The title itself is a reference to the 1985 Jackie Chan movie Project A, although the film bears no resemblance to Project A; the working title ended up sticking.
David's Dibs: A-Ko was the first full-length motion picture Anime I have seen, years ago originally on VHS. While I already had a strong interest in the TV series, Sailor Moon and Starblazers, but it was with A-Ko that I could see a full cinematic presentation, and I hate to admit it, in that one instant it made me glad I was a boy instead of a girl at the time.
From the first time I saw it I couldn't stop laughing at how outrageous the whole plot was !
And it was only years later did I realize that Project A-Ko is a spoof of several more serious Anime films. And I did see some grim ones, including Akira and later the High School Of The Dead.
Today, however, my interest in Anime will always be towards silly, crazy, madcap, and let's be honest, a little kinky - and I have this very and one film to blame (or congratulate) for my fixation and boyhood crush today.

If you like A-Ko and it's story, you may also be interested in the Panchira-driven Agent Aika and Virgin Missions or the considerably more pantsu one-shot Eiken. :)
If you want a story focusing more on plot than silliness, I highly recommend Gall Force as the story in it was gripping and intense without becoming too entrenched in horror or drama.
