I was talking
to @RighteousBruin from Xanga and he was saying on a
page, "You see what you want to see, and you hear
what you want to hear." and I thought he was
referring to the silly Addam's Family music video
from Mc-Hammer with the same words. [Link]
But no, he was saying there was a 1972 album from
Harry Nillson called, "The Point." And well, you
know me, I'm always fascinated by new stuff so I had
to investigate and of course after I found more
information about it, and - the first question out
of my mouth was - as with anything new, "Is there a
movie about it ?" Cause I love movies doncha know.
And - sure enough, just like A
Wrinkle In Time, there =WAS= a movie ! And boy
is it rare !
And - I guess I'm a little disappointed by the
ending. Sometimes I take pride in my thinking on how
a story is gonna turn out. Like Avatar. I had that
story totally pegged after the first 20-minutes and
I was spot on the mark.
I thought surely the film, "The Point" was going to
end with something clever like, "Not everything has
to have a point, but it does have to make sense."
And no - they didn't do that. They ended it -
strangely. But then I do remember that Mr. Nilsson
said that he took acid when he thought up this
story.
In any case, please enjoy, "The Point" and always
consider in life that many things do in fact, have
a point to them. But the real question is, do you
know why they do ?
