Darkened Path

Darkened Path

A Poem by Dusty
"

Just a 14-line poem I wrote for a contest, not very good... but I am more of someone who uses alot of words, lol.

"

Look at this road I have traveled

Every step seems like I have walked a mile

but looking back now, it is only an inch

One step more, another inch of a mile

The sun has set on me

I wander in the dark

Tripping, stumbling, running from the devil's claws.

I cannot look back, see what I have lost

I cannot see forward, it is too dark

So here I wander, and here I weep

tears falling silently from stony cheeks

The branches reached out their hands to save me

but it is too late

I will never be free
