Why I write

Why I write

A Poem by Dusty
"

A short poem inspired by nothing but the blank whiteness on the desk before me.

"

Paper,

fresh, pure, and clean,

White as a true dove's wing.

Scratch of the pen,

as a puppy at the door

begging to be let in

just once more.

Brush upon the air,

glides so smooth.

Pen upon paper,

love filling every lettered groove.

A passion, an insanity, and art,

as flying upon velvet clouds

watching a sunset

kiss the pink of a diamond sky.

You wish to know the reason I write?

This is why.

Freedom so broad you can't see the ends.

A story that never truly begins.

Paper ready to be transposed.

Find the words within the white,

Bring the story to life.

I really enjoyed this poem. You have great figurative language and diction. Agreeing with the first review, the poem also addresses some of the reasons I keep writing.
I've read some of your other work and I am very impressed. :-)
