Heaven

Heaven

A Poem by Dusty
"

What happens when all hardship dissapears? Can we really be happy, if we do not know pain? Can there really be song, of which there is no sadness to sing?

"

Breathing heavily in the blinding whiteness.

As far as can be seen,

it is is never ending brightness.

No shadow or dark to lessen the continuous tone,

a desolate, eye-watering home.

No sun or moon or star shall rise,

no wave or tree will grow.

In this endless perfection,

that people strive for all their lives,

no one grows or ages or dies.

No bitter taste,

to sweeten the flowing wine.

No hunger to burst on the tongue,

making the flawless food taste all the more fine.

No reason to dance and sing or eat and drink,

content to stare out at the world,

with no thrumming pain to make the eye blink.

A throne of gold and cushioned cloud,

no praises or blessings sang aloud.

Silence with no sound to make it more peaceful,

no sadness or pain

to make you happy to be free again.

The constant feeling of no feeling whatsoever.

This is not what the Bible described.

Maybe if I just close my eyes,

and fall,

I could pretend I never died at all.

This is a wonderful evocative poem which fills me up with emotional joy knowing that i can still retain my senses and have a pair of eyes to witness the smooth white fog which envelopes this tranquil place, that maybe i will shed a tear from my none existant body that indeed i may still have all my senses intact yet i am dead how can this be i hear you ask? because i am in the splendour of heaven where all dreams are possible, here comes the tooth fairy what shall i wish for? oh yes an angel called MYLENE FARMER my favourite french erotic singer.

I love it. I see how this relates to what I wrote as you had said. I love the intuition you have =) we have a lot in common in views of religion/spirituality/theology. Hope to read more of your works and I hope we can have a discussion about this sometime!

Again you bring words of wisdom to your poetry... it is true that without hardships in life it is hard to appreciate all the good things that come our way and soon the joy would be sucked out of life as we would become numb to the pleasure... This is wonderfully philosophical work.

What a great poem! I don't agree with iQuanten, but I took it in a different light. A beautiful realization comes from these words.

This made me extremely emotional and express tears of joy, what a wonderful poem. I've been feeling the same recently. Religion was created by man, by means of controlling people. True worship and peace comes from the heart. From birth, we are forced to learn how to life our lives by a book that teaches us good morals and principles, which was written by the hands of men. Life and love comes from the heart.
