Into the Forest

The 7th grade from Lion Middle School was at a rest stop on their way back from their state capital. It was a 4 hour long bus ride, which to most people seemed pretty long.

 

Over by the water fountains though, Casey lemmington was bragging to his friends about a strange rock he got from a tourist museum back at the state capital. That is, until he told his friends that he heard a noise from the woods. he wanted to go check it out.

 

It just so happened that Rayelle Kija, one of his best friends overheard what he said. So she listened in more. He just told his best friend, Terry Guthers, that he was about to go out to the woods.

 

Terry replied, "No, don't! I hear there are bears out there, and besides, we're about to go back on the busses!"

 

"Aw c'mon, I'll only be a few minutes, please cover for me until I get back," replied Casey.

 

"Fine," said Terry. "But, if anything does happen, I told you so."

 

And after that, Casey ran out back to the woods, which turned out to be a huge forest.

 

Rayelle followed him, just in case.

 

As Casey was checking out a bush, she started to spy on him from behind a tree.

 

Terry had a bad feeling about this.

 

5 minutes later though, at role call, Casey Lemmington and Rayelle Kija were nowhere to be seen.

 

Terry just wanted to go out and get him but thought best not too, he got himself into this.

 

That's when Rayelle's best friend Ariana Bugh noticed Rayelle was gone.

 

Ariana knew that Casey was gone, so she got Terry's attention from the next seat.

 

"Hey Terry," she said, kicking him from behind the seat.

 

"What?" he asked, rubbing his lower back.

 

"You know Rayelle's gone too, right?" she asked.

 

They exchanged worried glances.

 

"Aw, why did Casey's big ego get in the way this time?" Terry facepalmed himself for even letting him go out there, into the forest, rumored to have bears.

 

Terry knew what he had to do.

 

He had to tell the teachers the two people who were gone, his best friend and Ariana's best friend. He just didn't know why Rayelle went with.

 

So he did.

 

And then everyone went on a search.

 

Back at the forest though...

 

Rayelle was keeping quiet up until she accidentally stepped on a twig.

 

Casey turned around and said, "Of course. My stalker."

 

"What, no!" Rayelle retorted.

 

"Then why did you follow me here, huh?" asked Casey.

 

It was silent for a moment until Casey broke the silence saying, "Exactly, now buzz off."

 

"Look- out here you have to at least have someone with!" Rayelle said.

 

"Why does that someone have to be you?" asked Casey.

 

"Ugh, just trust me on this one, ok?" asked Rayelle.

 

"Fine...just don't get in my way," replied Casey.

 

"Agreed." said Rayelle.

 

Casey heard footsteps.

 

"Hear that?" asked Casey. "Now their searching for us."

 

"At least they know we're gone!" retorted Rayelle.

 

"Well, I want to avoid trouble altogether so we might as well hide," said Casey.

 

"Like where?" asked Rayelle.

 

"We might as well run until they stop," suggested Casey.

 

That's when they both started to run from the people searching for them, it was a crazy idea, but they had to do it to stay out of trouble.
