A Dragon's Quarry

A Dragon's Quarry

A Poem by Paladin4life
"

This is just a little something as a response to a poem about a wolf and a lioness. If you are a fan of dragon's I think you will enjoy it. If you are a fan of wolves, my appologies. I also want to give credit to my best friend the Xi of Nothing for his h

"

Soaring high above the clouds this noble beast bellows
Surely he is stronger than all his earthly fellows
Looking down upon his kingdom he eyes his glorious domain
Do his wise eyes deceive him or is that a wolf without a brain
To tree a creature of such beauty surely the dragon could not allow
So swiftly decends the dragon with a roar and a growl
The cocky wolf still mocks the young cat's position
He still unaware of the mighty dragon's decision
To end the wolf's reign of terror and make him his prey
So the wicked wolf's life ends in a crimson spray
In an instant the dragon's fatal mission is complete
And the agile lioness lands on the ground safely on all four feet
With a purr the young cat thanks the noble beast
The dragon nods to let her know he did not mind in the least
With fanning wings he ascends into his cloudy domain

The young lioness continues onward now free to roam again
The next time you find someone upon which you desire to prey
Remember that you just might find the dragon stands in your way

Oh that was very good. Rhyming was great. You have taken a childhood creature and turned it into a lesson of learning. To all the Bullies of this world And here's to all the Dragons who defend and protect.

Well done. I hope to see more of your writings.

A poem with a moral, nice ending! You've included some fine lines tho your metre's a little off now and again, but, then, it all flows naturally and really pulls in the reader.

' So appreciate the final lines .. ' The next time you find someone upon which you desire to prey //
Remember that you just might find the dragon stands in your way'. Couldn't that apply to many situations in life?

Thank you very much for sharing.

You do well with poetry, I'd recommend doing some more of it. It's a nice addition to the little erm... argument I suppose haha. The little furball started, the wolf was just ending it! Ah well, even if the wolf's demise was horrible, this was entertaining to read. Good job Paladin.
