Our names.

Our names.

A Poem by dukovan
"

another song type thing.

"

I was the one and only one.
I'm just another friend,
another love,
to fear.

A better man,
with a different way,
in the backs of your eyes.
We all anticipate.

He'd talk about drinking,
and he mentioned his mother.
He spoke of sailing,
and his s**t-faced brother.

If its too late to shake,
theres always something else
either way.
---------------------------------------------

I was the one,
the only one who knew,
another way to kill me,
with another day to lose.

A better way,
with a different man.
I write the remains,
of the things you never said.

He talked about leaving,
and he spoke of the weather.
He said, "There's no time left;
its not getting any better."

Either way we've lost the day.
Either way we're lost,
at least its in a place,

we've never been.

------------------------------------------------
A better day,
a bigger man,
I listen well,
though I hardly understand.

The boat is leaking blood
thick as oil in the mud.
I named it after you.
I named it after love.

They call me by your name,
and by the things I've never done.

Is this a rewrite? I seem to remember parts of this, it also seems like you've tightened it up and fine tuned it. This has more focused punch to it. Nice write.
