Cavities

Cavities

A Poem by dukovan

Our tendencies tread on our feet.

The places we go to sleep,

are sleeping inside of our heads,

and feeding on our legs.

I'll stagger a point with facts.

I'll smooth out the scars on my back.

Theres holes in your teeth,

where the truth goes to sleep.

I'll fill them with what you lack.

This problem binds the sheets,

to the roof of your mouth you cant speak.

Theres a hole in the sink

where you spit just to drink,

a dirty word,

a name,

to keep.

You said my fathers name.

It put me to shame,

so its him I must blame.

Either way,

I'll have someone to blame.

How long did it take you to pray,

between the intention and stains.

Its already too late

for me, I cant sleep.

Let me go,

let me talk,

let me be.

Then I saw a thought I'd seen.

We're inciting different dreams.

Its too late for me,

for now I can't sleep.

Let her go,

let her talk,

make it clean.

I untied your dress.

I watched as your face fell,

and rose

on my chest.

Good piece, clear, directional, nice phrases and line breaks. The first three stanza's are great. In the fourth I might not use blame twice, fits but just sound awkward so close together.
good job.
