As far as I know.A Poem by dukovanThe drive, the distance, the difference. "Cheat, what a way out. Crack my rib, wait to die."
I was by myself three hours ago.
Just a phone call away, and my tracks in the snow. So we went the distance, as far as I know. We're the living arrangements, of both our past ghosts. I turned up the heat, because you said it was cold. Stripped down to my skin, to make sure you'd know. You were the distance that I wanted to go. You were the future I needed to know. I thawed out my mind, all over the road. Thought of your body, and the curves I didn't take slow. I swear I split the difference, as far as I know. Pushing this car as far as it'd go. I could see you standing outside, at your parents home. You left on the porch light, and your uncanny glow. You are the light that's driving me home. You are the future that I still need to grow. I thought of the future, and how I was wrong. You laugh at my games, and just play along. You thought I knew the future, but it was only a song. We'll call it fate when its over. For now lets just sing along. © 2011 dukovanAuthor's Note
