Paperback ghost.

Paperback ghost.

A Poem by dukovan

I smiled with you,
as I left the room.
Turned my head,
and continued to smile.

I sifted though letters,
from the past three Novembers.
The words hung and fell,
their letters dismembered.

I know now the gravity,
and how the leaves fall.
The bottom still hovers,
but we bend towards the sun.

I sifted through ashes,
of our old cloudy breaths.
This dwelling exchange,
is killing whats left.

I learned of my will,
and what it can do.
Pushing the envelope,
straight into you.

The words on the paper,
and it in a sleeve.
The paper like ghosts,
haunting their trees.

Our cigarettes dying.
The smokes stark escape.
Learned about living,
and teasing the flame.

I'm choosing my flame,
licking the words.
It tastes like the future,
its' sound still unheard.

This is great. I defiantly could see this a song of sorts. I enjoyed this very much. I like your style.

Your lyrical poems are really taking off. Concise quatrains, meter, and evolution. Don't forget to put some block chords along with them for musical juxtaposition.

This felt and read quite like a Death Cab for Cutie song, and that's a compliment.

It's lyrical and polished, there isn't anything I'd change.
