The pile

The pile

A Poem by dukovan

When you walk around the pile
In paces pondering placement
Complacent in fire
Furnished desire
The smoke signals survival

Wandering around this empty town
The kids left for the coasts
Pulling apart a weaving wonder
Infinite particals parsing the hands

Hold me under the fire, it rises
I write through the scene inspiring someone
The base of the pile i parsed out the pain
Popping my head out now and again

I really like the atmosphere you've written in the 2nd stanza, it also goes well with the music I'm listening to right now, Timecop1983 - one night. tyfs

I honestly don't have a clue what is being said here, except for the one line "kids left for the coasts" -- I see the empty streets & boarded-up factories in the "fly-over" states -- thinking I could work my way from this idea, outward, to find some connections. But I'm drawing a blank. I really love the way your work is full of strong word choices & phrasing that makes for powerful reading (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
