For the birds, for youA Poem by dukovan
I'm running while you climb
the basin of your peaking and plateau eventually, I'll fly I was trying to be a pilot while you were knitting scarfs I was weaving stories of dreams with tattered ends while you kept track of what I was saying Always dog-eared always dog people always listening You read me to sleep once or twice The words on my face couldn't tell if you were Wendy or not chasing my shadow again Taking credit for why you loved me a simple fool or is it a boy? Now I'm running, because it's hard and it gets easier the more I do it and sometimes it gets hard again but I keep my eyes up give the birds my thoughts and pray they find you
