salty breaths

salty breaths

A Poem by dukovan

This is the way you move away
off of her eyes on a harbor
she see's the way you wave
holding a bit of shaved mast

This is the way you harbor her
washing your hands in the cabin sink
foaming away the sea legs
soon to believe the edge of the world

Now I want to talk out loud
thought you were crazy, your mirror
fogging up and seeing it though

Now Its all I talk about
hearing the way I always speak
carried a body to the dock

This is how I move with eyes on me
its a feeling, really I'm just waiting out
but waiting isn't what it's been
something recycled the way I cope

Shaving bits of spine off the journal
the one you collected time with
salt in my eyes feeling out
can't tell the difference between the wind and water now
