The fish on the wall

The fish on the wall

A Poem by dukovan

I can hardly wait til you go
I can't be beside myself this way
You looked out the window for a while
You said, "please let me know you'll stay this way"
Now it's hard to exist like this
You know it's hard to stay away.
It's hard to stay away when you're awake
'
Just want to get up and get some coffee with you
maybe talk about the weather
not as if to blame it for our moods, just wear a sweater
God my teeth holy, and he made you so cold
I use cream for the color, never the taste
so you're never too bitter, and it's never too late
to say what we mean
All that I said was I'm sorry
It really wasn't a loaded gun
Oh, uncle can you tell me stories
About the fish on the wall
and your lover so tall?
and I'll order you another beer
