off the wall

off the wall

A Poem by dukovan

I needed to know you
Your brother was home for the weekend
I laughed with your mother
And told her the joke you told me

Me and my meetings
Washing my hands
Singing a song
It's my birthday again

I hardly knew you, you know.
I stressed and you stressed
Different opinions
On how we both wanted things to change.

I wanted an answer
You wanted to think
I wanted a father
I've got you to thank

By now the rooms upstairs are empty
I burned the last chair
And I'm sleeping alone
With the wedding I nightmarried you.

The rooms all look the same
The mansion here
I found a way
