sweater weather

sweater weather

A Story by dukovan

When I watched the drapes wave goodbye for me
And you exiting the complex
I realized that I should shut the air off
But still wont
Because you said you liked my sweater

You can keep your secrets inside of the holes inside of my sleeve.
And we'll always be so close to mentioning it
And you know what I'm talking about
The way you touch me that way
As if you're in my veins.

To tell you the truth I lie
Awake for reasons other than you
But you're the only reason I love losing sleep

I want to say I love you
But it seems like it would cheapen it
So maybe I'll mouth the words
Or take up sign language
Maybe I just wish you were deaf

I find my voice curving as softly as your neck
As to carefully place a rounded piece of my mind
With something tangible
No,
Something beautiful.
