when i got home.

when i got home.

A Poem by dukovan

When the time is here

there will be a moment you wasted

rising to the surface,

pulled back to a corner

condensed in consideration

of whether or not to stay.

You don't deny the fire

Or how it matches the drapes

and your eyes and how you see yourself inside.

When the time has passed

I hope we're still laughing about nothing

better yet the leaking gas.

The pilot light is out

commandeer my breathing

keep watching the sky for a sign

In a way, nothing was telling me,

that either way I'd leave something behind.

They said they found your shoes

you shook them off in fear of being followed.

Said they weren't my tracks to begin with,

yeah, tell that to the child.
