drink where you swim

drink where you swim

A Poem by dukovan

When I sat up in my bed I made a point to forget about

the dullness in my head and a thought of open windows.

When I reached across the darkness to make the dry mouth wet,

half of me was searching for a better way to fill up the rest.

I walked across the floorboards cast my eyes to the lake,

I saw a women on the dock and didn't know her name.

I untucked every corner of my mind just as she turned her head

I drank what was left of what got her thinking of a swim.
