water color island

water color island

A Poem by dukovan

I was stranded on a water color island.

You were a canvas of color coded emotion.

You blend so well to the wall paper

I'm still here because I'm convinced you'll peel.

The lights burnt out in the basement

in charcoal and spitfire, syntax burned blue,

and your eyes read between the blacks and the whites

and you saw every syllable flicker.
