old house

old house

A Poem by dukovan

I saw the door cracked open

when I got home.

Its been a while since the basement

where we found what seemed important.

The light bulb smashed right before the pieces came together.

We were pigeon foot

and tying knots to not forget

the looks that we exchanged.

The furnace broke while we slept

The reason I still mention it

is you never explained what you meant.

But I could imagine by now.

The windows cracked you glassy eyed regret.

Complete my sentence to hold regret,

Its been a while so I speak in silences,

to hang myself by my own intwinement.

Homebound,

hold sounds in the glass

by your bedframe, never lasts

long enough to quench the lifeless past

never lasts

homebound

holds on to sand

hour glass by your bed

selfish glance

homebound and terrified of ghosts and lifeless sounds.
