she went with them

she went with them

A Poem by dukovan

I meant to turn back around
under the street lamp
between the headlights and you're starry stare.. How
could I remember how far you'd gotten?
Since last december
you were the last cab i caught.

Thanks for having my back girl,
when I'm most tired
building cities at night.
I white out good spots
but not too much girl,
never too much for you.

I meant to thank you for last night,
when I was stealing spine from hero.
I can't decide who's the villain
maybe I am,
I am certainly.
But that's too much for her
she just loves the city,
the lights that stole my old ways
and she went with them.
