Triangle

Triangle

A Poem by dukovan

Haven't posted in a while.

"
I am the car ride you've taken.
You chose me one night in the cold.
The radiator would give steamy sighs
made of dreams of the places we passed.

I'm on to the next life,
inside of a whole one.
I'm halved when you're sleeping.
do you always have to repeat me?
We're only decaying
into nothing.
That must count for something
do you count yourself to sleep?

I'm counting my blessings.
I start with the windows,
a warm view of the ice and I lied
when I said I won't come back home

To all of my family,
I know you get lonely.
Do you repeat me
and see my breath
thaw out your window
to freeze up again?

So count yourselves lucky
you've got somewhere to sleep.
Its funny, I missed you.
I always repeat myself
again.

I am the mountain
that I'm always climbing.
My thoughts are a harness
for these ambivalent peaks
of the same exact thing
that you see like me.

I really enjoyed that last stanza, I mean the whole poem was good, but that last stanza stuck out, the flow of it and the choice of words...
"I am the mountain
that I'm always climbing.
My thoughts are a harness
for these ambivalent peaks
of the same exact thing
that you see like me."

Really well done.
