Of dreams, drives and photos.

Of dreams, drives and photos.

A Poem by dukovan

I had a dream where my eyes were the headlights
and my brother was weaving in and out of sleep.

I moved like he moved
until the moments approved
every flinch,
every second,
every frame.

His eyes would twitch inside his lids.
I thought of the thought he attracted.

I know now you were distracted
with the past and reactions.
Caught up in a fish tale
trying to reel in the road with your teeth.
By that time, you never quite reach.

Now I'm an hourglass with a grainy reflection,
that I can only see when I focus.
If they knew, do you think they'd have told us?

I've got an excuse to not write another phrase.
Do you think it'd be better off this way?

The picture you didn't take;
the one that got away.
I was slipping away
inside of myself.
Its just another day.
