Manhattan.

Manhattan.

i found out i had a family
in a folded, eventually known, note.

Eventually my promise will come through.
Probably, I wont find a use for it or you.

I still have my first crease
like a b*****d belly button
splitting at the seams.

Now I rarely sleep,
smoothing the crease between
my sheets and dreams.

I found out you had a family
and promised you wouldn't be blamed.

Eventually I'll make my bed
but really whats the use.

Author's Note

dukovan
Sort of comes from the idea of the movie Manhattan, where he's talking into his recorder and asking himself what makes life worth living for anyone? Then there comes this moment for me where i realize I make my own choices and that I have to see that for myself. This write comes in from a perspective of either myself, or me putting myself in somebody else's shoes watching my own relationship unfold, and not understand the point. For me its very hopeful, even when it doesn't seem it, because the way I've asked "whats the use?" means it is now about my personal choice, and realizing what is worth living for for myself, and the people I love.
