Best things in life are free.

Best things in life are free.

A Poem by dukovan

I saw a small dog on the kitchen floor.
The leaky sink's drips drew me to your face
that was etched in the cupboards and doors.

I really want to be good this time.
I hope nothing changed while you were away.

Your dad was inciting in his friends spare room
as we watched the game and settled our throats.
And the sounds of settling itched in my seat
and I hoped we could sink a few more.
After all, when its free its free.

I really hope you'll be good to me.
Do you think we'll stay dry with holes in the roof?

There's a lazy and sharp companion here
winning your smiles and scoring your cheeks.
I only hoped you'd agree.

I really want to be good this time.
Now that you're home with me
my eyes draw away from the sink,
and the ceiling bows as you smile.
After all when its free,
its free.

We still argue
but only to laugh.
I'm getting much better at that.

I can hear echos
and I let them pass.
I know it gets better than that.
