Past priorities.

Past priorities.

A Poem by dukovan

Go back to the place you came,
but try a different way.

My brother still sleeps around,
too stubborn and scared to be home.

I'm building roads from my chest.

We drove around and my heart pumped out
anticipation and misdirection.

A lost apprehension due to the crash,
now its time to complain,
about the little cash for the scraps.

I still remember
the feeling of metal.
I feel it again.

I saw your face in the rear view mirror
and your eyes swam through my veins.

We're hitting puddles everyday,
but we're sleeping through the rain.

So I hope your dreams take you somewhere safe
but keep in mind of the last place you came
and let go.

It's a good song, encourages introspection. I'd really like to hear it set to music.

Lovely write.
Love the line most,"So I hope your dreams take you somewhere safe"

First line really works for me. Same with last lines.
Eyes swimming through veins: really lucid, great.

Hitting puddles? Fabulous.

Building roads line is beautiful.

The too stubborn line slows pacing for me. A bit common in word choice, though the line before it about the speaker's brother is just edible. Great detail.
