Negatives

Negatives

A Poem by dukovan

Those shadows  hold us in
whose fingers sway in ways.
It all depends on the time of day.

There are stories we keep inside,
so we don't spill them out our face.
It all depends on how much we can take.

I was sitting inside the trees' shade,
sorting through yesterdays paper frames.
I compared the negatives,
I'm almost certain,
that someone else is doing the same.

I depend on no one and that's how I'll stay,
as a no one without a name.
With no one else to blame.

That dark divide sits inside my head.
tried not to lose in a game of pretend.
So whose really winning in the end?

There's things I can't see
so I feel.
You can divide with those eyes,
whats real from whats not,
I feel.

I depend on you for everything,
and that's what you mean to me.
I'll try to keep me,
if that's what you'll really want from somebody,
somebody like me.

Don't listen to me.
There's bound to be better ways,
but here we are again,
another day,
bound to this tree the same.

I meant you had to chose.
It all depends on you.

I really like this, as usual. The beginning is very visual but then you transition into more abstract thought. "There are stories we keep inside, so we don't spill them out our face." - this is a really cool image and a great line... :)
