Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel

A Poem by Dukesrunner

flicker flicker flashback "
back to will that lost the fight
the waver candle’s long dead light
that fell fallow under hush of black.
What hush of dark
That broke the silence of light’s
So glory,
That stands on backs of fallen quarry,
To peer on arms bent of fire,
Overlooking the sun expired.
The cry of plight,
That rang out so clear,
Gently muddled into the night,
That ever grew out ancient fear…

Welcome.

Fear what you cannot see,
Including me.
The night has blinded
So far as light,
Your mind?
Faltered through life despite,
Your wisdom shallow,
That soul?
of spite.
Keep looking,
For that you seek,
Has long grown bleak
Into the depths of ever night.

But still,
I’ll sing my call;
From where you stand
I had once fall.
I’m not the rumor down the street,
Of what to come by beating feet.
I’ll sink away by coming force,
If to preserve my ailing sword
I’m more the voice inside your head
Continued silent,
Ignored near dead.

So in coming time,
Too soon, so far
My mission failed,
Your life my mar.
The night is what once never was
It’s coming fare, light’s tarnished cause.
The cause for question should arise,
To what ends meet will that your lies?
Persist forward without change
And know ‘tis your grip on our chains.
Too tight and we’ll be pulled asunder,
My black shielding wings lastly pulled under.

So... yeah. I'm actually at a loss for words, and not for any particular reason. And knowing me, normally these things are full to to the brim with random crap. I haven't posted anything for a while, so I guess this isn't a bad poem to come back with. Or, not in my opinion at least. You all might have another idea. :) This poem is rather strightforward, and yet not so. The title certainly describes the basic idea behind this poem, but there is much, much more to find if you look in detail. Or perhaps that's just me. Tell me what you think.
