Static

Static

A Poem by Dukesrunner

A flash,

Lightning bled across the ground.
Cracking across his pale face.
The beads drenched his pores,
Dripping to each side at every toss
And turn.
And still the rain hammered his window.
His face, so calm
Was distorted,
A glance of fury strewn across his face,
Then glory the next.
Eyelids flickered in place,
Two glistening candles in the moonlight.
A palm, rubbered and tight
Grasped his lifeline,
Holding him to reality.
Still,
The rained poured harder,
The lightning struck earth.
Static filed the room…

Despite the night,
His room filled with light.
Eyes opened once again,
To the world he must contend.

So.... yeah. Here's my newest poem, and to be frank, it's not among m top favoite. In my opinion, it's okay. I got another one of those flop inspirations that gives out on me after the first two lines. Sigh. Oh well. I through in some meaning, but it wasn't well hidden. Oh well. The picture's kool. That's the best part about this piece though. :P
